Fall is my favorite time of year. The crispness in the air, the changing leaves (yes, even here in LA!) and the darkening evenings ushering me to bed by 9.
This slow transition towards Winter invites us to slow down after the busyness of summer and prepare ourselves for the slower days ahead. It’s also my favorite time of year to assess my beauty routine and double down on all things moisture before the challenges of dry winter skin and hair set in. In addition to doubling down on moisture, I’m really paying attention to streamlining and finding products that do double duty. Between being a parent, running a business and carving out time for myself, I have zero time for complicated beauty routines.
You can find some of my favorite new beauty finds below or you can shop the full collection here.
Conscia Hair Stones. Long a mainstay for those of us in the hippie set, a shampoo bar is an easy, plastic free way to cleanse your hair making your haircare routine better for the planet. However, this is the first one I’ve found that partners with a conditioning stone making my plastic free dreams come true. Not only is it plastic (and water!) free, but it smells amazing and really upgrades my wash day. Made by hand with natural ingredients and scented with essential oils, it’s become one of my favorite products.
It’s definitely a habit shift, but once you get used to it, you’ll love the results and over time your hair (and the planet!) will thank you. I, for one, have no plans on going back.
Rbrow brow pomade Gifted to me by the founder Rachel Marlowe, it quickly became one of those “don’t leave home without it” products right along side lip balm, herbal tinctures and my reading (who am I kidding - seeing!) glasses.
Holds brows in place with a light sheen while pulling double duty as it conditions, nourishes and stimulates hair growth. I use it during the day and at night, and over time really noticed my brows filling in. Formulated using all natural ingredients. Free from parabens, PEG's, sulfates, mineral oils, petrolatums, synthetic colors or fragrances.
Wooden Spoon Herbs x CAP Beauty - The Lightray. This stuff is quite possibly my favorite treat of the day. It’s jammy flavor cures any sweet cravings I might be having, while giving me a dose of vitamin C (from rosehips) that keeps my skin looking great. Not only can you take it internally, but you can use it on your skin ensuring that my requirements for products to do double duty is met. Continued use results in clear, glowing skin that will leave people asking just what you’re doing to get that glow.
The Well Journal. Love this journal for cultivating a practice of paying attention to our overall wellness by connecting it to what you eat. You track what you've eaten, how you slept and your exercise and then note what you are grateful for and how you are feeling each day. Makes an amazing gift for yourself or anyone you know who's trying to be more mindful with eating!
