How do I contact the Atelier and book an appointment?
For appointments and any related questions, please feel free to contact our team at the Atelier by phone at 310.363.7542 or by email at assistant@highbrowhippie.com.
Please note, for new clients, all consultations are done via email. This helps ensure that we’ve scheduled all new clients for the appropriate services and timing.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
We ask all clients to arrive on time.
We also ask that clients getting a highlight service, arrive with freshly washed and dry hair. This ensures you get the maximum results out of your appointment.
How is balayage different from traditional highlights?
Balayage in French, translates to ‘sweeping.’ It is a technique in which highlights are painted on the hair, allowing for a more natural look. There are no foils involved whatsoever. Please see our blog article Balayage 101 to learn more.
When is the Atelier open?
The Atelier is open Wednesday-Saturday from 10am to 5pm.

What makes Highbrow Hippie Haircare and Wellness different?
Highbrow Hippie Haircare and Wellness was born out of the needs of our clients at the Atelier and formulated to offer holistic solutions to women’s hair care needs and created to support their overall wellbeing.
Highbrow Hippie Haircare and Wellness was created by and for women. We recognize that a woman’s journey to optimum hair health is highly individualized and is achieved through both internal and external balance.
Where can I buy Highbrow Hippie Haircare and Wellness?
You can buy both the Essential Wellbeing Complex and Root Replenish Active Growth Serum online at www.highbrowhippie.com or in-person at the Highbrow Hippie Atelier.
Are the products gluten-free and vegan?
Both the Essential Wellbeing Complex and Root Replenish Active Growth Serum are vegan.
The Root Replenish Active Growth Serum is free of gluten as well.
The Essential Wellbeing Complex complies with the 21 CFR 101.91, containing less than 20PPM of gluten, classifying it as gluten-free. People with gluten sensitivity should consult with their physician before using this nutraceutical.
When should I expect to see results?
Results should be seen after the 90-day mark for both the Essential Wellbeing Complex and the Root Replenish Active Growth Serum.
Essential Wellbeing Complex
Can the Essential Wellbeing Complex be taken in combination with other supplements or medications?
Yes, but we recommend discussing any new addition to your supplement routine with your medical professional.
I already take some of the nutraceuticals listed in the ingredients, should I continue taking?
Consider the recommended daily allowance for each nutraceutical before to determine if the Essential Wellbeing Complex can be combined with other nutraceuticals.
Can I remove the desiccant?
We recommend that you keep the desiccant in the bottle, with the Essential Wellbeing Complex capsules, at all times and refrain from removing any pills from the original packaging without a desiccant.
How should the Essential Wellbeing Complex be stored?
The Essential Wellbeing Complex should be kept in a cool, shaded area, away from direct sunlight, and out of extreme cold temperatures.
Please note that the desiccant should always be left in the packaging. Capsules should also remain in their original packaging.
How long will a bottle of the Essential Wellbeing Complex last?
30 days.
Is the Essential Wellbeing Complex suitable for everyone? Is it just for women?
This complex is suitable for women between the ages of 18+ It is also suitable for men over 40.
Individuals who are taking blood thinners should not take the Essential Wellbeing Complex. Those who are pregnant, looking to conceive, or breastfeeding should not take the Essential Wellbeing Complex. If you have thyroid issues, you should consult with your medical doctor before taking the Essential Wellbeing Complex.
Is the Essential Wellbeing Complex suitable for men?
Yes! While the complex contains certain ingredients that specifically support women, it also is suitable for men.
What is the recommended dosing for the Essential Wellbeing Complex?
Two capsules, twice daily (taken with food). Ideally, the first dose is taken mid-day and the second dose taken in the evening.
How does Biotin affect lab results?
It’s important to note that biotin has the potential to falsely alter T3 and T4 blood results. It’s important to consult with your doctor before taking biotin.
How long till I see results from the Essential Wellbeing Complex?
Results should be expected after the 90-day mark.

Is the Essential Wellbeing Complex made in a GMP-certified facility?
Yes, it is.
Root Replenish Active Growth Serum
Will the Root Replenish Active Growth Serum leave a residue on the hair?
No! It is water-based, so it will not leave a greasy residue.
How long will a bottle of the Root Replenish last?
Roughly, 30 days if using one dropper full, twice daily.
How long until I see results from the Root Replenish?
Results should be expected after the 90-day mark.
Is the Root Replenish safe to use on color-treated hair?
Yes! The Root Replenish Active Growth Serum is safe to use on color-treated hair.
Can I use this in combination with other treatments? (minoxidil, GHK, LLLT, etc.)?
Yes.
Can I microneedle my scalp before the application of serum to improve absorption?
Microneedling has been shown to improve the absorption of topical scalp products. However the efficacy/impact of microneedling with the Root Replenish Active Growth Serum has not been evaluated. Therefore it is not recommended to be used in combination with microneedling.
Does using the Root Replenish require a lifelong commitment (e.g., do I need to use daily or can I switch to a maintenance phase after a period of time)?
As with all nutraceuticals and medications, use is very personalized based on results. Good practice is to monitor progress of hair health in and schedule routine wellness checkups with physician so that they can ensure wellness markers are in balance.
Will I experience “shock loss” when I begin using the product?
With the serum, some shock loss (temporary increase in hair loss) can occur as some hairs transition into growth or resting phase.
Orders, Shipping, and Returns/Refunds
What are my shipping options?
We currently ship to US domestic addresses as well as the non-contiguous US (HI and AK). We ship to PO Boxes/APO/FPO by ground only. We do not deliver orders to PO Boxes/APO/FPO via expedited shipping. If you place an order to a PO Box/APO/FPO and select expedited shipping, your shipping method will be downgraded to ground. We are currently not shipping internationally.
For all orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $4.95. For orders that are $100 or more, shipping is free.
Orders will be fulfilled and shipped out either on Mondays or Thursdays, depending upon when the order was placed.
How long will it take to get my order?
It depends on your shipping address. Orders will ship out on Tuesdays and Fridays. If your order is placed by 2:00 PM on either of those days, it will be shipped that same day. Any orders placed after that time will ship the next shipping day.
When the order is shipped, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.
How do I return/get a refund for an item?
At the moment, we only offer returns on products that are unused and unopened. If a product is eligible for a return, customers are responsible for paying a 15% (of the total purchase amount-excluding tax and shipping) restocking fee, as well as the return shipping fee. Returns must be requested within 14 days of receipt.
Please reach out to our Customer Service team at love@highbrowhippie.com for all return requests. Please include: your name, the order number, and the reason for the return. Please include a photo of your unused/unopened products when possible. We will then issue a return shipping label via email.
Once our team has received your products, your refund will be issued. It may take some time for the funds to be issued back onto your credit card, so we kindly ask for your patience.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently, we only ship domestically within the United States.
