I was so honored to be a part of this production, especially, as it’s the first time that my work as a colorist has been credited in print as part of the team. Meghan advocated for that, and though I’m MORE than comfortable staying in the background, it’s really nice to be included.
Another first- out of the crew the editor, writer, photographer, stylist, hair stylist, and makeup artist- all black. If only people realized how infrequently that happened. It’s a hard road to become something if you never see examples that look like you. It means a lot to me that future generations of young black girls know that they belong everywhere.
