Hiring a Salon Assistant Highbrow Hippie

We're currently looking to add a SALON APPRENTICE to our team.

Our ideal Salon Apprentice is passionate, loyal, and committed to being the best they can be. They look for ways to affect positive change and contribute to the company. They have a positive attitude and are creative, sophisticated, reliable and organized. They have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license. 

They are professional, anticipatory and have experience working in the beauty and lifestyle space. Their background is in beauty and their personal brand aligns with Highbrow Hippie and ideally, they are already a follower of ours.

Our ideal candidate is:

  • Clear on what they want their career path to be in this industry
  • Willing and open to work as both a stylist and colorist apprentice
  • Has strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and deal with problems as they arise
  • Can think in advance and anticipate needs
  • Experienced in dealing with a wide variety of people
  • Flexible with time and willing to go the extra mile
  • Open to learning and integrating constructive criticism
  • Excited and eager to be a Highbrow Hippie and grow their career alongside a highly talented group of individual
  • Interested in participating in the Highbrow Hippie educational program - which provides educational courses and a roadmap to becoming a stylist and/or colorist
Responsibilities:
  • Greets clients and gets them set up for their services
  • Performs all hair washing services
  • Assists with styling services on occasion 
  • Maintains a clean and functional working environment

  • Performs apprentice duties/runs errands for Highbrow Hippie

Requirements:

  • Valid California Cosmetology License
  • Must have drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to work Wednesday-Sunday
